WatSan Action consists of four distinctive programs: Public Health Promotion, Clean Water Program, Improved Sanitation Program, and Solid Waste Management Program. These programs needed their own subsidiary iconic system to complement the WatSan Action logo and distinguish their individual programs that together work with disadvantaged communities in Jakarta, Indonesia.

After understanding the basis of each program, I designed symbols that identify each program's line of work. The colors came out of the need to be very distinctive with a unified hue that complements the existing logo of blue and green.

Most of the beneficiaries they serve do not read or write, so the use of symbols and a color-coding system became especially important in both identifying the different programs in the communities as well as for general public relations purposes.
